June 5, 2017 – Ottawa – The Canadian Federation of Humane Societies (CFHS) is thrilled to announce that the 2018 CFHS National Animal Welfare Conference – the largest Canadian conference of its kind – is set to take place in Calgary April 21-24, 2018.
“We’re so pleased to be hosting this world-class event in a world-class city like Calgary,” says Barbara Cartwright, CEO of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies. “This is the first time the event will take place in Alberta, where nine of our member societies are located – including Calgary Humane Society and Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) in Calgary. It’s important that we make NAWC accessible to our community members, who face significant resource challenges and do this work as a labour of love.”
As part of the 2018 CFHS National Animal Welfare Conference (NAWC2018), we’ll also be holding a special awards dinner to celebrate the best in Canadian animal welfare and recognize the leaders who are pushing forward important innovations to change the lives of animals for the better. The winners of the CFHS Animal Welfare Leadership and Innovation Awards will be announced in early 2018.
